The 'Big' Seven fitted neatly into the Austin production range for 1938 and 1939, and was aimed at bridging the gap between their Seven and Ten horsepower models. With its own distinctive styling, notable for its lack of running boards and swept back tail which concealed the spare wheel, it also featured Girling brakes all round and steel spoke wheels. Some 23,514 units were made in a two year immediately pre-war production run, and was offered with 2 or 4 door coachwork as on this car.
